Andrew McLeay
With over 30 years experience in the survey industry, Andy manages the commercial aspect of the Ultrabeam business.
Andy started his survey career with Osiris-Cesco in 1983, and initially worked as a land surveyor and draughtsman before training as a hydrographic surveyor and later becoming survey manager for Exploration Associates Ltd.
Andy spent many years working on coastal survey projects, including a two year secondment to Land and Marine Engineering, engaged in major oil and gas pipeline installations on the north-east coast of Scotland.
In 1997 Andy set up Osiris Hydrographic & Geophysical Projects Ltd (Osiris Projects) with fellow Director Jim Walters, and grew the company into a high profile industry leading business over a period of 15 years – at which point Osiris Projects were acquired by the Bibby Line Group. Andy remained in the post of Managing Director (now Bibby HydroMap) until March 2017 when he decided to step down and pursue new challenges.
In early 2018 Andy teamed up with Gabriel and established Ultrabeam Limited in order to bring Gabriel’s unique prototype USV to market and to introduce a new high-quality survey contractor into the coastal marketplace. The first 3 years has seen high demand for the company’s services having worked at locations across the UK, Ireland and Europe, and at locations in Ghana, Singapore and the Arctic Circle.
