Introducing the 'Artemis of Penzance'

Ultrabeam Hydrographic’s Arronet 24′, ‘Artemis of Penzance’ is an all aluminium 7.4m road transportable survey vessel which has Category 4 certification under the UK MCA Code of Practice, allowing her to work up to 20 miles from a safe haven during favourable weather and daylight.

The vessel has a range of transducer mounts and neatly accommodates multi-sensor geophysical survey, supporting multibeam echo sounder, side scan sonar, magnetometer and pinger subbottom profiler simultaneously.

A retractable over-bow mount provides an excellent depolyment configuration for high resolution multibeam and simultaneous kinematic laser scanning data acquisition. An electrically operated stern pole mount allows deployment of subbottom profiler or USBL (sub-sea tracking) transceiver through the rear platform.

Artemis provides an exceptionally practical working platform having a ‘walk-through’ wheelhouse with comforable suspension seating for 4 people, open foredeck and good sized rear working deck with rear platform. Power is provided by a single 200hp fourstroke Honda outboard giving an economical and comfortable transit speed of 25 knots. Onboard fuel capacity means that Artemis can operate for up to 7 days between re-fuelling given a typical survey day with transit to and from site.

The boat is very effective for her size and sits just nicely within legal parameters for weight (2900kg including trailer with own equipment and full tank of fuel) and overall dimensions for easy transportation by road. A fully rollered road trailer makes for easy launch and recovery with 2 people.
